Ålbæk Harbour

Our stop for today is right in the marina at Ålbæk. For 230 DKK per night, you get a quiet pitch on a paved area, including electricity as well as fresh water and waste disposal facilities. Normally, check-in is done at a machine where you pay for your stay and receive a ticket with the PIN code for the barrier. Unfortunately, finding the machine was the first little challenge, as it isn't particularly well signposted and we had to search for quite a while. When we finally found it, we discovered that it wasn't working. But once again, we experienced just how helpful people in Denmark can be. A friendly Dane took us under his wing and helped us find the harbourmaster. Once we found him, we were able to pay by card without any problems, and everything was sorted. We are now parked on a paved area right in the marina, and it is wonderfully quiet here. Electricity is included, and fresh water and waste disposal facilities are also available. For 230 DKK, we think the overall package is very reasonable. Getting settled was a little more complicated than expected, but thanks to the spontaneous help we received, it wasn't really a problem at all – and it turned into another one of those little stories that simply belong to life on the road.
